Hands-On Learning Environment
The practical nursing program at NWTI focuses on providing students with practical experience. Most sessions need to be in person to make this possible. Students participate in internships at healthcare facilities, where they gradually learn to interact with patients under the guidance of assigned mentors. The program also includes simulations using lifelike mannequins to help students develop essential clinical nursing skills.
Mode of Learning
Northwest University's practical nursing program is split into three semesters and one Summer term. Students who have been working as certified nursing assistants (CNAs) for at least six months are eligible to enroll in the licensed practical nurse (LPN) track.
NCLEXPass Rates
Northwest Technical Institute's Practical Nursing program has a 100% NCLEX-LPN pass rate. The program's dedication to nursing education is shown by this accomplishment. NWTI prepares students for the licensing exam and their professions with in-person seminars, realistic mannequin simulations, and medical center internships. Due to the program's outstanding teaching and experienced mentors, graduates pass the NCLEX-LPN and enter nursing with confidence.
Admissions at NWTI
The admission process into the LPN Program is competitive. As such, if the number of qualified applicants exceeds the 50 slots available, preference will be given to those with higher COMPASS and TEAS scores.
Accreditation and Approvals
Northwest Technical Institute (NWTI) is accredited by The Council on Occupational Education (COE), a recognized accrediting agency that ensures the quality and integrity of occupational education institutions. Note: Graduates from NWTI's practical nursing program are eligible to apply for licensure through the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. Prospective students planning to move and work in other states should verify the program's eligibility for transfer, as NWTI does not hold national accreditation by a nursing accrediting body.
