Affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Convention, Mississippi College is the oldest higher education institution in Mississippi and a trailblazing co-educational university. Founded in 1826 as Hampstead Academy, it has evolved from its frontier origins, grounded in faith and determination. Mode of Learning
The Nursing minor, BSN, and ABSN programs are on campus and provide essential clinical experience for non-nurses entering the field. The traditional BSN program takes approximately four years, while the ABSN, designed for individuals with a bachelor's degree in another field, takes about one year.
The RN to BSN and MSN Clinical Nurse Leader programs are fully online. The MSN CNL program requires 30 credit hours and can be completed in about one year of full-time study, with a part-time option available.
NCLEX Pass Rate
In 2021, Mississippi College nursing graduates boasted a remarkable 96% pass rate on the NCLEX, reflecting the quality of their education. Furthermore, 95% to 100% of graduates secure full-time nursing positions within one year of completing their program.
Admissions at Mississippi College
To be eligible for the nursing program at Mississippi College, students must first apply and be accepted to the school. Additionally, in order to continue with clinical courses in the School of Nursing, students are required to submit a completed application before February 1 for fall admissions and September 1 for Spring admissions. For applicants, it is worth noting that admissions to the program are competitive, so students are encouraged to put forth their best effort when applying.
