Master of Science in Nursing
MSN Nurse Educator
Messiah University's MSN nurse educator degree program is for those nurses who hold a BSN degree and would like to pursue a MSN in nursing education to help teach the next generation off nurses. The program will prepare the student to take the National League for Nursing (NLN) Certified Nurse Educator examination after meeting the practice requirement for eligibility. Messiah's MSN degree program gives the student a solid foundation into their doctoral studies.
RN-MSN Nurse Educator Tracks
- Registered nurses who have earned an associate's degree or nursing diploma
- Registered nurses who have earned an associate's degree or nursing diploma and hold a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field
Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Nursing Education (CAGS)
If you are a registered nurse who already holds an advanced degree in nursing (MSN, DNP or PhD), Messiah offers a 15-credit CAGS in nursing education. Graduates will be prepared to take the National League for Nursing (NLN) Certified Nurse Educator examination after meeting the appropriate practice requirement for eligibility.

- Associate's degree in nursing or diploma in nursing from an ACEN accredited program
- Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Does Messiah College have evening classes?
Unfortunately, no, there are a very few College classes offered in the evening hours. A few nursing clinical experiences are in the evening hours, but the associated classes for these clinical experiences are during the day time hours.
Can you attend part time?
Part-time program is available.
Do you have a program for RNs to get their BSN?
No, there is currently no RN-BSN program, only an RN-MSN is available.
