Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) is the largest medical college in the country and the only Academic Health Centre dedicated to osteopathic medicine. LECOM was established in 1992 by the physicians and management of Millcreek Community Hospital to meet the increasing demand for medical professionals. Located in Erie, Pennsylvania, LECOM is focused on improving the community's health, with its medical college and hospital at the forefront of a modern medical education system. LECOM Health, which includes a progressive healthcare and education network, introduced innovative medical fitness and wellness concepts to Erie and set up a network of physician offices. The Master of Science in Nursing-Clinical Nurse Leader Program aims to prepare professional registered nurses for successful careers in executive nurse leadership at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM).

Hands-On Learning Experience
The LECOM Master of Science in Nursing - Clinical Nurse Leadership program aims to educate and prepare future nursing leaders through a comprehensive curriculum that includes classroom learning and practical experience. Students are equipped with the skills to lead and oversee complex healthcare systems with integrity, exercising their best judgment, taking responsibility, and effectively collaborating with other healthcare team members. By integrating interdisciplinary approaches with evidence-based healthcare policies and directives, the program addresses the pressing need to enhance the quality of patient care.
Mode of Learning
The Clinical Nurse Leader (MSN-CNL) program features 16 online courses organized into themes covering healthcare systems and nursing services, enhancing clinical performance with a focus on care outcomes and quality, and delivering responsive, effective, efficient, and cost-conscious healthcare services. Students can expect an intensive educational experience, culminating in the Clinical Nurse Leader Capstone Project.
MSN-CNL Admissions
The MSN-CNL program is a post-licensure nursing program. To be admitted, students must have an undergraduate bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree and an unrestricted registered nurse license in their home state. Their registered nurse license must be kept active and without restrictions throughout their enrollment in the program. Therefore, the MSN-CNL program does not fulfill the educational requirements for a nursing license.
Accreditation
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) is in the process of obtaining programmatic accreditation through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), an official accrediting agency of the United States Department of Education for its MSN-CNL program.
