Esperanza College Of Eastern University is a Christian college that was established in 1986 by the Hispanic Clergy of Philadelphia and the Reverend Luis Cortés, Jr.  Reverend Cortés had the vision to build a college within the heart of this neighborhood to provide access to quality higher education opportunities and provide economic mobility out of poverty to a community that was often underserved. With the institution's dedication to the service of the Hispanic and local communities and to enhancing the knowledge, skills, and outlook of young people and adults so that they can live even more thoughtful, positive, productive, and purposeful lives. Over the years, the institution has been known for providing a holistic and affordable education to students and fostering relationships with the community at large. Hands-On Learning Experience

One of the perks of studying at the Esperanza College of Health Sciences is that the institution provides an all-inclusive hands-on laboratory available for students to use alongside state-of-the-art facilities, which are made up of a Health Design Laboratory. The Health Design Laboratory provides students with the opportunity to learn using technology such as a virtual dissection table, computer design and 3-D printing, patient virtual simulators, and virtual reality. The Esperanza College Minorities in Health Science Symposium is a Health Career Series that exposes students to highly successful health professionals and provides the students with networking opportunities.
