Eastern Shore Community College, located in Accomack County, Virginia, serves the educational needs of Accomack and Northampton counties as part of the Virginia Community College System. Mode of Learning
All programs at Eastern Shore Community College are in-person and designed for entry-level nursing students. The Practical Nursing program spans three sessions, while the Associate in Applied Science in Nursing (AAS/ASN/ADN) program, offered in partnership with Tidewater Community College (TCC), takes four sessions to complete.
The Nurse Aide Career Studies Certificate is completed in one session, and the Nurse Aide Extended Care Certificate is available over two sessions.

NCLEX Pass Rates
- Eastern Shore Community College achieved a 100% NCLEX-PN pass rate in both 2020 and 2021.
- In the first quarter of 2024, all 51 nursing students who took the NCLEX-RN exam also achieved a 100% pass rate.
Admissions at ESCC
Eastern Shore Community College has general admission requirements for all programs, with additional standards specific to the nursing programs. For the highly sought-after Nurse Aide program, candidates are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by the completion date of their application and placement tests. Priority is given first to residents of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, then to other Virginia residents, and finally to out-of-state applicants.
Accreditation
The associate-level nursing program at ESCC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) through its partnership with TCC. The LPN program lacks national nursing accreditation.
