University is a private, non-profit institution that was founded in 1891. The College of Nursing and Health Professions began in 1863 as a training school for nurses and has been educating future nurses and healthcare professionals for over a century.

Undergraduate

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Co-op)

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is for those who are ready for a full-time undergraduate nursing program that is based on nursing science and will prepare the student to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) to become a registered nurse.

The BSN-Co-op 4-year program

This program includes one cooperative education experience in acute and chronic illnesses, which concludes in a 6-month work-related experience that may be useful on a resume at the time of graduation. This will leverage the nurse into employment.

The BSN-Co-op 5-year program

This Co-op includes three cooperative education experiences; the first as an introduction to the Contemporary Healthcare Network and the second in acute and chronic illnesses.  The third includes a specialty nursing concentration, which results in 18-months of a diverse, work-related experience that may be included on a resume at the time of graduation. This also leverages the nurse into employment even faster.

Options for Transfer Students

BSN-Co-op 4-year program

This is available for transfer students who have completed college-level studies prior to attending Drexel. This requires no pre-requisite courses. Along with a 4-year progression, this program includes one cooperative education experience.

BSN-Co-op as a "clinical ready" transfer student

This an abbreviated version of the BSN-Co-op 4-year program and it is for those students who have completed pre-requisite courses and are entering the program, "clinically ready".  The program includes a 3-year progression with one cooperative education experience.

BSN as a Non-Co-op transfer student

This program is Drexel's only undergraduate nursing option that does not include a built-in cooperative education experience.  This program is for students who have completed their nursing courses and would like to reach their BSN within 2 years.

Clinical

Clinicals are faculty-guided and allow the students to act as nurses with real word situations under direction of another RN as well as their clinical instructor. The clinical groups are small with only 6 students per group. Each group gets to experience a variety of areas including adult health, women's health, pediatrics, psychiatric and mental health, community, gerontology, and complex/critical care.
