Dalton State College, a public institution in Dalton, Georgia, is part of the University System of Georgia. Founded in 1963 as a junior college, it became a four-year institution in 1998. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the college was renamed Dalton College in 1987 and later opened the Dalton State Gilmer County Center in Ellijay in 2009. The college also introduced its first on-campus housing, Dalton State at Wood Valley. Admissions 

Meeting the selection criteria does not guarantee admission to the nursing program at Dalton State College.
