Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) was founded in 1900 in Dallas, Texas, by a group of physicians as the University of Dallas Medical Department, despite no institution existing under the University of Dallas name. Now located in Houston, Texas, within the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest medical center—BCM comprises four academic components: the School of Medicine, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the School of Health Professions, and the National School of Tropical Medicine. The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Anesthesia Program offers a comprehensive 36-month in-person program for registered nurses (RNs) with a BSN.

Master's-prepared CRNAs with advanced standing can complete the program in 24 months. Most of this advanced standing program is conducted online to provide flexibility for working professionals, with a few on-campus sessions to ensure hands-on training and direct engagement with faculty and peers. This hybrid of online and in-person learning provides a well-rounded and practical anesthesia education.

National Certification Examination (NCE) for Nurse Anesthetists

The program boasts a 100% pass rate on the National Certification Examination (NCE). Impressively, 93% of recent graduates passed the exam on their first attempt, compared to the national average of 83.2%. Over the past five years, 94% of graduates have passed the NCE on their first attempt. Further emphasizing the success of DNAP graduates at Baylor, 100% of recent graduates secured employment upon graduation.

DNAP Admissions at Baylor College of Medicine

The DNP Nurse Anesthetist program reviews applications starting in January and selects students from a competitive nationwide pool. The selection process occurs in early fall before classes begin.
