Baker College has a rich history that began in the early 20th century with the founding of Muskegon College by Woodbridge Ferris and Baker Business University in Flint by Eldon E. Baker. In 1965, these institutions merged under Robert Jewell's leadership, marking the start of significant growth and development. Over the years, Baker College expanded by adding campuses, obtaining regional accreditation, and launching its first graduate degree program. The college also embraced online education, expanded its academic offerings to include Business Administration degrees, and developed specialized facilities like the Auto/Diesel Institute of Michigan and the Culinary Institute of Michigan.
