Atlantic Cape Community College officially opened in 1966 in Mays Landing, established through the collective efforts of educators, legislators, and the community. Throughout the 1980s, the college experienced significant expansions and facility enhancements, including a major renovation of the Academy of Culinary Arts.

In 2005, ACCC expanded its reach by opening a new campus in Cape May County, further extending comprehensive higher education opportunities to the area's residents. Highlighting its pivotal role in community development, Atlantic Cape was designated as an Anchor Institution in 2017, reinforcing its commitment to leveraging educational resources for community revitalization.

The nursing programs at Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing feature a cutting-edge Simulation and Skills Lab equipped with 17 hospital beds, advanced mannequins, and innovative software like LLEAP and SimCapture. This facility provides students with hands-on hospital experience, enhancing learning through immediate feedback and fostering confidence and clinical competencies.

Graduates of the associate nursing program benefit from a streamlined path to further their education through the 3+1 RN to BSN Program, which allows seamless transfer to institutions like Rutgers University-Camden School of Nursing and Phoenix University. This arrangement saves time and reduces tuition costs, supporting students in advancing their nursing careers efficiently.

Mode of Learning

The Nursing program at Atlantic Cape, in collaboration with Ocean County College and Burlington County College, offers a flexible Associate in Applied Science in Nursing (AAS/ASN/ADN). This program uniquely combines online didactic instruction with clinical experiences completed in various Southern New Jersey locations in a one-day-a-week, 12-hour format. The entire Associate in Applied Nursing Program spans two years.

Additionally, the Practical Nursing Certificate program is designed to be completed in 18 months. It includes in-person classroom sessions, hands-on laboratory work, and supervised clinical training, closely reflecting the curriculum of Registered Nursing (RN) programs. This structure provides comprehensive preparation for practical nursing roles.

NCLEX-RN Pass Rate

Atlantic Cape Community College's Nursing school had a whopping 100 percent on the NCLEX Exams in the first quarter of 2024.

Admissions at Atlantic Cape

Admission to the Nursing Program is competitive and requires a separate application for admission. The Nursing program is exclusive to Atlantic Cape students. If you are currently enrolled as a student or have taken a credit class at Atlantic Cape in the past, there's no need to reapply.
