What were the best things your instructor did to help you remember things and make it stick in your mind? What did you do in class? Did you do anything interesting or fun that really helped you learn?
Did your CNA instructor flip the classroom?

My instructor was incredibly rude, we frequently watched old videos in class, and just overall not a conducive environment. It just so happened the book, written by the instructor, was really well written and contained everything we needed.
That is awful. What was clinical like? Did you get any good experiences?

My instructor was notorious for pausing a conversation to ask a question about a skill or something we should know as NA's. It really helped me to stay on my toes.
In class it was lecture after lecture followed by practicing a skill and maybe checking it off for the day if as a class we agreed we could do it.
As far as interesting goes - learning a new skill was always fun. I don't know why. Maybe just because it was something new? (: Something funny always seemed to happen.
Clinical was great but our facility was chintzy. We paired up the first day with a partner to take care of our patient. Started bright and early. I was up at 5 am and on my clinical site by 6 am. The second day I was on my own. It was eye-opening but let me know I could survive.
I ended up taking vitals for what seemed like hours on multiple units haha.
Did your instructors use fun stuff like playdough or things to help you remember things? We are getting ready to study compound fractures and I was wondering about getting some of that makeup and put on the arm. Stuff to help them remember.
