I am curious what everyone's working hours are at their schools. Are you only expected to be in the health office when students are in school? If you are a full time school nurse are you expected to put in a full 40 hours? Or is it more like 30 hours? TIA!

I'm in a K-3 school. My hours are when the kids are there (7:40-2:10), with occasional late meetings.

I work in a 6-8 school, and I start when the kids start, which is at 8am. I am expected to work 6 hrs and 55 mins, so I leave at 2:55pm. 8am-2:55pm, for a total of 32 hrs per week (30 mins deducted for lunch each day).

I put in 40 hours per week at school and another 5 to 10 hours per week away from school in the community in places like the grocery store, gas pumps, local restaurants, etc., where I can't get away from being the school nurse or a nurse in general.

I have four schools. Our contract is integrated into the teachers.
start time is 8am for children. We are expected there by 730. The school day is over for students at 230. We may leave after 3. I rarely do that due to the paperwork involved with school nursing. I also take work home. Teachers also do this, so I am not unusual.

Our contract is 7 hr and 45 min day (don't know why) and we get 30 min lunch. Our school staff works 7:30am to 3:15pm. Kids attend 8am-2:30pm. Any extra hours you put in for meetings, paperwork, etc there is no extra compensation.

I'm at an elementary campus (PK-2 with approx. 850 students). I work 7:15-3:45 with 30 minute lunch, 40 hours week. Student hours are 7:50-3:10. However, I always have a line of kiddos waiting at my door at 7:15 everyday!

Pre K-6 for me. I work 8am-3:30pm. Probably later when school first starts to get everything organized and documented. Kids are in school 8:35-3:00. I get a salary though so no extra pay for extra hours!
