School that has the lowest GPA requirement

U.S.A. California

I have a 3.1 and I'm worried with that standing since I know how impacted the programs are. Do you guys know though if there are any schools that require something lower than 3.0? Pls let me know what specific school.

Thank you!

Which area do you live in?

I'm in the same boat. I'm in my fourth year of college, and I kinda screwed up (due to lack of passion for my major). My gpa is also around 3.1, and I'm worried I won't be able to get into the entry level accelerated BSN or MSN programs that I want. Does anyone know which school are generally easier to get into and/or which schools place more emphasis on other admission factors (such as interview, pre-req gpa, essay, etc)? I live in southern california and plan to apply to schools like MSM, CSUF, CSULB, Western U, etc. If anyone has any suggestions as to which programs are more forgiving towards lower-end gpa's, that information would be greatly appreciated!

Unless you work for the schools admissions its hard to say what the heck they are accepting these days!

However, I am sure the general response to your question is if you have a low GPA, make sure you get A's in your pre-req sciences (anatomy/phys, micro, stats, etc), have lots of medically-oriented volunteer/work hours, and have amazing references and personal statements.

That's probably the advice you will hear most often. Hope that helps.

I'm in the same situation as jill and sashimi, changing my major a couple of times and not doing my best has left me with around a 3.2 gpa. So I am also kind of freaked out and wondering what my chances will be when it comes time for me to start applying.

I do agree with bannon's suggestions and that's exactly what I'm trying to do. I'm doing my pre-reqs throughout the next year and will be trying my hardest to get A's in them so at least my pre-req/science gpa will be high. And I'm trying to sign up to volunteer at one of the hospitals nearby.

Hopefully my efforts will be enough, I'm planning on applying for Spring 2010. Most likely I will be applying to both ADN and BSN programs just in case :wink2:

Is there anyone out there who happens to work for admissions and is willing to give advice?? Hey, it doesn't hurt to ask :D
