Scholarships/Hospital Scholarships for BSN students

U.S.A. Georgia

I keep running into people who say that I should be able to find a scholarship for my program, but besides the few hospital scholarships offered in the Atlanta area (i.e. NEAT) I am having problems finding money for school. I will be going to school in Southeast Georgia in January. Does anyone here have any ideas?

Many hospitals in the Atlanta area offer scholarships. Usually you have to finish your first year of nursing curriculum before you are able to apply. Then you have to promise to work for the hospital for a set amount of time for each year you get the scholarship. Off the top of my head Northside, St. Joes, CHOA all offer scholarships to nursing students. Also, because most of GA has a nursing shortage you may be able to get the loan from the State of GA that pays a certain amt of money each year for your agreement to work anywhere in the state of GA for one year for each year you get the money. Ask your financial aid office about the program. I know the funds are limited, but I was able to get this last year and this year.

Hope this helps.
