Good day! I am still in prerequisites. I plan to apply to the nursing program at State College of Florida Spring 2017. I have all A's and one B so far. However, I work a very demanding job. My typical work week is about 55-65 hours. I am doing the majority of my classes online expect science of course. How much time should I be prepared to spend during my first two semesters in the program? What do those semester schedules look like? I am trying to save and pre plan to not work as much. Thank you so much in advance!

The schedule isn't bad- 2 days per week of class and then one full day of clinicals. That is how it is for all levels. I would spend about three full days studying every other week.
Are you applying to any other schools?
Thank you so much for replying!! No, I think I am going to stick with SCF. I have A&P II, Micro, Stats, and DEP to take. I am going to try and take A&P this summer and Mico in the Fall. Then I will apply for Spring 2017. I am just worried about not being able to work and focus on school.
Good luck with your classes!
I think the majority of students are working part time. It would be really hard to work full time. I don't work but I am a single mom so I only get to study if my daughter takes a nap or goes to her dads house every other weekend. You just have to be really determined and study whenever you can!
I am my only support. So I am nervous that I won't be able to pay bills only working part time. Is there a offer for night classes? Thank you so much for the information. I was thinking no one was going to respond and I would have to figure it out as I go lol
You can get the program paid for through suncoast workforce since there is a nursing shortage. It's really easy and lots of students do it!
Thanks that helps!! I will do some research on it. But I am worried about rent, car, electric, basic expenses. I know that I will have to cut back on work to get through the program. And that makes me nervous...
I could not find any information on Suncoast Workforce. I did find a company but it was for job placements in Sarasota-Manatee?
Sorry about that- it has a few different names so that is probably the right company. Careersourcesc.com is the website. They also do job placements, etc.
