Scared Student Nurse

Hello Everyone,

I'm a student at STLCC Forest Park. I'm going to articulate into the RN program maybe next month but more than likely in January. I currently work part time as a Teachers Assistant at a childcare center.

I've been reading through the posts and hearing other Allied Health students talk about how hard it has become for new RN grads to get a hospital job in urban areas. I've heard that the only way to land a hospital job is to either know someone that is already employed by the hospital or already work at one as a PCT. Has anyone else tried to get a job as a PCT or student nurse in a hospital and had luck without networking? Is it as competive for these jobs as it is for other low wage jobs?
