I just graduated last Friday, and got a job as a GN on a medical floor at a big hosp in the city. The more I think about going, the more scared, nervous, anxious, etc... I am. I just feel like I am not going to know ANYTHING and screw up and hate it! I am really hoping this is all a normal part of the process and if anyone else felt the same way when you first started your new career and if it all seems to work out or fall into place? Thank-you

I think it is very normal! You're going into a very new job. New to the staff, surroundings, rules, and the job itself. I think you'd be crazy not to be nervous, anxious! You're getting out of your comfort zone and that's always a little unnerving. But just do your best! And you'll do great!!

Your emotions are very normal. I am a new grad myself and I have been orienting in a big hospital on a neuro floor. The information and knowledge base is so overwhelming. I was a LPN prior to getting my LPN and was use to a daily routine in a nursing home. Hospitals are so different and require a new way of thinking. The good thing about a hospital is that they have so many knowledgable people their to help out in a crisis. You are never alone when something bad happens. I am in my third week on orientation and I feel alot better than day 1. Its definetly gonna take some time to get use to it all. It will come with time.
