SBVC Spring 2022

Published

Hello,

Who else will be applying to San Bernardino Valley College this coming application period?

What program were you accepted in? Regular ADN is tomorrow but I see you're an LVN. So yours could be different since you come in at a different semester??

Maybe it’s an orientation for people in the bridge program LVN to RN.

Specializes in Acute Rehabilitation Nurse.

Yea that’s probably it still so excited though.  You guys let me know what they talk about in your meeting please.  I’m curious to know

Yes I will report back ?. You'll start at a different time and your Bridge Program has different stuff then us. But let us know how yours goes too please.

@nancy how was orientation?? Ours was good. I got some tasks done already and my background cleared and did my drug test already. I go get fitted for my uniforms today.

Hey Everyone.

I am trying decided between accepting CSUSBs nursing program or doing the SBVC but I have no idea how many days a week classes and clinicals are and what some of the sites are.

Could anyone help me with this info?
Whats your schedule like? Do you guys have contracts with Kaiser or any other well known hospital? So curious and this would really help me make a decision.
I have all this info for CSUSB but SBVC is very hard to find the info for.
Thanks in advance!

@CSparks114 Sure. I’m currently in my 1st semester with SBVC. The 1st 8 weeks you’re in nursing 150 fundamentals of nursing. That’s only one day from 8 to 550. Lecture is first then a two hour lunch and then lab on Tuesdays. Clinicals are either Wednesday, Thursday, or Fridays. Currently were partnered with Del Rosa nursing home,Arrowhead, Saint Bernadine‘s, and San Bernardino community hospital. In nursing 151 MedSurg 1, we have class on Mondays for 2 1/2 hours. Class on Tuesday for 2 1/2 hours and then lunch for an hour and a half and then skills lab until 350. Currently I’m at Saint Bernadine‘s and clinicals are for 13 hours on Thursdays. However again depending on what section you get you can have Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday clinicals. For the first semester you’re assigned a section for second semester you’re open to register and whatever section you would like to. If you have any other questions please just text or call me at 909-507-0038. It would be a faster response for you and this is my number that’s on my business cards since I’m currently part of associated student government on campus.

Did you guys end up taking any alternates in your class?

How many alternates did Spring 2022 cohort end up accepting?

Hi, I was wondering do you know if your class accepted any alternates? If so how many? When is the cutoff for them, like do they come to the first weeks of class incase someone drops? I’m currently alternate #1 now for fall 2022. Really hoping I get in!

Just depends. If there cohort isn’t full or someone drops asap. After the 1st week they don’t accept anyone anymore. For the last 2x all the alternates got it.
