Say It isn't so, tell me what you know about UPMC layoffs

:eek: I just recently posted an article which described UPMC as being awash in money. Now there is supposed to be an article in Trib about how they are cutting back their work force.:uhoh3:

I heard they are eliminating some positions. I've actually even interviewed of few of them. They're not bedside nurses, though. But that's what they're interviewing for now.

So Zee, are you are saying these are nurses they have non staff nurse jobs and they are being let go? Or are you saying other types of positions not nursing are being eliminated. Odd they did not offer them bedside jobs at UPMC. I worked at UPMC(called Presby then) right out of ADN school. Only stayed there two years was tooo stressful even then. God did I learn a lot though. Also, their inservice education had to be the best in the world back then.
