I am curious about Savannah in terms of cost of living ( which I understand is considerably less than Seattle where I am).
I also wonder if anyone in this forum is familiar with Memorial Health Hospital - any comments would be appreciated.
What are the salaries for leadership type positions?
Is it difficult to switch from a NW mentality to a southern one? Has anyone done this - what was it like?
I am interested in any thoughts anyone has on Savannah and Memorial health - thanks!

Savannah is a great place to live. I was recently looking online at homes in CA (Santa Clarita area) and the same homes here for around $250,000 would be around $400,000-600,000 there, depending where you were. I would say a decent "starter" home is about $125,000. I have worked at Memorial Health for 22 years (since graduating nursing) and have not been lured away by other hospitals in my area. Sure, we have our ups and downs like any other major company with as many employees, but nothing that would make me leave. Mostly growing pains, nsg shortage, etc. The same stuff everyone else is facing. The communication between staff, managers, and administrators is excellent. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Thanks for responding!
You mentioned you have been at Memorial health for 22 years - what has kept you there? What area of the hospital are you in? Where is this hospital located city wise - I'm afraid map quest hasn't been a great deal of help thus far - it shows me where the hospital is but isn't able to give the bigger picture.
I will be interviewing there next month which is what is prompting my desire for information. A website and phone interviews don't also give a true picture.
My hearts desire would be to live in the historic district - an apt for now - don't want to sell our house here - is this feasible? Are there other areas that have the quaint charm and history of the historic district that are maybe easier to get to? Or are closer to Memorial Health.
I have so many questions - I don't want to overwhelm you with them. I greatly appreciate any thoughts or insight you have. Thanks
