Tweety dull routine can be good

Hi Stars

Dianah glad it's only a minor plumbing issue

NJ22 glad his tests were normal so far.  A robotics competition sounds interesting

Initially I asked for help at work yesterday, but in the absence of meetings or any more new cases, I was able to get all of the work done myself

Rest of the day was fairly quiet.  Stopped at the library and at the grocery store and exercised.

Today will head out bird watching as usual, then will have lunch with dad.  Then will make the fall Chex mix and head over to a potluck with the gay group

Think it's going to be cooler today, only into the upper 50s

I forgot to go to the bank yesterday; I wanted to get some cash, but I believe I can get through until Monday without it; And my check from the iL's should be given to me shortly. Got most of my bills paid yesterday, anyway.

I might go to the pharmacy to pick up a refill but that can actually wait, too, as I still have a half-dozen of those particular pills. Plus it is Saturday and there will be TOO MANY PEOPLE there! I can go to Food Lion for the other things I need to get. As usual we are running out of drinks (tea, coffee, milk, cran-apple juice, Pepsi) , and dog food, the underpads for both Nannie and Momo, and I'm going to get one of those ZEVO bug-killers that you plug into an outlet. Poor Momo just shivers and shakes when there is a flying bug in the room, and I have to go on-duty with the fly-swatter until I eliminate the threat. I am not such a dead-eye at killing flies with a fly swatter as I used to be. Flies feared me. 😉 But I miss more than I hit now. Eventually I manage to eradicate the dern fly, but it takes too long sometimes. I keep saying, "Pick a place to die!", but they won't LAND on anything, just keep zooming around. So maybe the Zevo product will take care of their bothersomeness (!) and Momo can relax.

I think I hear some noises from downstairs, so I'd better pull on my blue jeans and go investigate. Prolly Nannie is up; usually, if it is SiL or BiL they let me know they are here. On the other hand, since it is 12 noon, they may think I am still sleeping and don't want to disturb me. If it is not Nannie being up, I can make another cup of coffee and come back upstairs for a while longer.

It is going to be in the upper 70's, low-80's today, and the chance of rain or the thunderstorm that was previously predicted, has tanked to "maybe a little rain around 6 PM." Huh. Just 'shows to go ya' that Mother Nature seldom goes by the meteorologists reports!

It was Nannie , she had come out into the den to sit in her chair. But I still waited until 1 PM to come down and get her dressed and breakfasted.

What I did in the meantime was text our former hairdresser to see if she's still doing clients. She texted me back and said she is available Tues or Wednesday, BUT she is going to be MOVING in a few weeks to her place in 'the mountains', where-ever that might be. So I see her on Tuesday at 3:30 PM, and if SiL isn't taking Nannie that day, I will just drag her along with me. I do not look forward to auditioning a new hairdresser, however! I think I told you, most of SiL's hair clients are little old ladies with white, thin, short, curled hair, and my hair kind of confounds her. I would trim it myself if I could, and I may end up doing that; I will look for a mirror I can mount so I can see the back of my head, then I can better judge where I might have missed a spot or two. Ya can't hold scissors in one hand and hold a mirror in the other, need TWO hands to get it right! I don't want to hurt SiL's feelings, but I also want my hair cut decently, so it will all fall together like it's supposed to (a page-boy cut that hangs above my shoulders, but just below my chin.) When I get a good cut it is a low-fuss hairdo, and if I am anything it is LOW-FUSS with regards to fashion and hair. Don't wanna have to use anything but a hair dryer and a brush, no curling irons or whatever. I remember a long time ago, the failed try at the Farrah Fawcett thing, my hair just laughed at me when I tried to make it do that back-swoop she wore. That's when I discovered or realized that arguing with my hair is useless. My hair wants to hang down, so I don't have to constantly be trying to convince it to do otherwise.

So, Nannie is staring out into the back yard; her meds haven't had time to kick in yet, so I don't know if she'll nap, or I'll have to load her in the car for my run to the store. Prolly just ought to get the car pulled around to the back door. No sense in prolonging this.

Good evening.

J22, hope you feel better soon.

Was in charge and had a busy morning.  Sent a patient to ICU but it settled down and I got out relatively on time.

Back tomorrow.

We were supposed to have rain/thunderstorms today, but it was just hot and humid.

BiL is putting up a kind of pergola thing on the patio. Nannie spent the afternoon telling me what he was doing, when she had absolutely NO idea. I tried not to listen to most of it and just said "uh-huh" a lot.

Two minutes after we got back from our little shopping trip I asked Nannie if she remembered being in the car at the grocery store, or remember that we had just come back from being out in the car.....She didn't remember any of it. Don't know why I expect her to remember, nor why I 'test her' to see, because it's obvious she can't remember anything anymore. Time to let go of some more expectations.

I did get that 'flying insect trap' (ZEVO) that you plug into an outlet. I sure hope it works, as Momo gets so freaked out when a fly is zooming around. Interesting instructions, which said, in one section "CAUTION: Risk of UV exposure. Skin or eye damage may result from directly viewing the light source at the surface FOR MORE THAN 8 HOURS." Whooooo would sit and stare at the blue light for EIGHT HOURS?? Someone must have done it, for them to feel obliged to mention it.  But eight hours?? Weird!
