You may want to dust off your old A&P books and review the autonomic nervous system and the muscular system. Review of the hypothalamus may also help.

Create a list of where each ion, such as Na+, Ca+, etc. is used and what it does, then consider the case of too much or too little of each.

Get the book Fluid and Electrolytes "Made Incredibly Easy". It breaks it down 1 electrolyte at a time, has pictures and charts that help. I wish I had this when I took my F/E test. But someone was nice enough to give me theirs, after my test lol. But these are important things to know b/c you WILL see this again.

This was the key for me. So many of my classmates tried to study for Fluid and Electrolytes through sheer memorization and had problems. If you can understand why things are happening instead of merely what is happening, you have much better luck on exams.

just thought i should update this... i ended up making an 85 on that test!!! whoop whoop :) xoxo
