Still morning, but heading up to noon time. Today's complaints started last night when I discovered Momo had peed off the pad that I put at the foot of the bed, and onto my comforter. Bummer! Had to use a different comforter and it was polyester with 'fake' stuffing....which made me sweat all night! It wasn't breathable like the down blanket. So I woke up feeling drenched, but at least it wasn't wet with PEE like with Nannie!
Anyway, I reckon I will be washing the down blanket again. It loses down every time it gets washed. The first two I ever bought didn't do that, but the last 3 have sprouted down from the cross-seams. Same company sold them, so I guess they decided that fewer stitches were called for, to save money in the manufacturing process? Maybe I should spread multiple overlapping underpads on top of my bed?! *sigh*
I also slept on my right side for the last several hours of my sleep time....and of course my lower right back is A-C-H-I-N-G, so I had to slap a Lidocaine patch on there so I can get through the morning. I need to take a shower and shampoo my hair because I feel GROSS! But, I may have to wait until later for that.
The iL's will be returning today or tomorrow, which I kind of dread. Don't know why, but I do. I hope they don't rush right over here to do whatever....SiL said something about giving Nannie a shower and doing her hair. Goodness only knows if she has anything else planned to do ("help me" with). She COULD cut MY hair, but I ain't gonna ask her to. And I don't feel like sorting through the donate/pitch-out collection.
I DID go get my nails done yesterday, and Momo is happy with the new, sturdy nails to be scratched with. And I'm happy, too.
I've decided that Nannie is a bird....because she falls asleep on the recliner, curled over to her right side; to resemble a bird, all she needs to do is tuck her head under her arm. She CLAIMED she was not sleeping last night before I woke her up to go to bed. Coulda fooled me! Something about the snoring and talking in her sleep convinced me it wasn't 'pretend' sleep!
S'gonna be 90 degrees today, "for the first time this year", and possible t-storms later in the day. However the sky is blue and no clouds have started to accumulate yet. I don't think 90 is so horrible compared to the weather in other parts of the country, but the weather people are making a big deal over it. I certainly don't like the high temps, but at least I don't have to go outside in it, so ppfftt!
Dishes and laundry will occupy some of my time today. How exciting! I hope the day will be otherwise dull and quiet.
Got a text from older brother who said the biopsy of his liver showed cancer. Now they are going to make him wait through the weekend before he can talk to the oncologists about treatment, I would be inclined just to engage Hospice and ride it out with the pain meds, as I don't really think I'd enjoy going through all the radiation, etc. only to have many months of feeling like crap and trying to maintain my so-called "lifestyle". Wouldn't want to waste my time by continuing to be Nannie's caregiver. I've seen too much to think it would be an "improvement" in my life to hold my breath for the remainder of my days. Of course, that might mean Nannie would outlive me, but it if that is the only way "out" .....OH WELL! I don't think I have the support system I'd need in order to go through all that. Hopefully it won't come to that for me!
Anyway....that's all for now.
