I am using the NLN RN Pre-Entrance Exam 3rd Ed. study guide too. I have a math DVD "Basic Math Review-Test Preparation Secrets" from Mometrix. I believe you need to study MORE of the physics than in the NLN book. Know how to do the Gas Law calculations and what all the gas laws are. Know the velocity and other physics formulas and be able to solve word problems. They also have geometry that the TEAS does not have. I scored very well on the TEAS and studied a month or so for it.
Do you know if it is paper and pencil or computer?? I so prefer the paper and pencil for my test taking strategy.
Also, my email indicates: "currently, one or more of your prerequisites or program requirements are being evaluated for equivalency; however, you are receiving this email because you may have met the minimum application requirements and are being invited to take the assesment to determine eligibility for conditional admissions."
So, they may have also invited you but are still going over your transcripts. The other two California Community Colleges I have applied to have already accepted all my course work. All prerequisites and GE have been done at CA Colleges. I have to retake Communications since they will not accept mine due to when I took it. They also have a Global Citizen standard I will need to meet. I can't remember if I am missing anything else.
I have applied at two other schools and am waiting to hear from the first one next week. Have you applied to any others and what is your preference of schools? This is my second choice, only due to distance.
Hi everyone
I also applied for Spring 2016 and have also received the email for the PAX! I'm curious though ; has anyone gone to one of the nursing information sessions at SMC and asked about the total amount of points needed to be accepted to the program. Of course I only went to the application workshop and those kinds of questions weren't really discussed. Anything you guys know would be helpful and best wishes to all who've applied :)
The department counselor did say at my application workshop that last year anyone who was invited to test and then passed the test were admitted. All of them. Now, she also thought that maybe fewer applied last year as they were still admitting 50% of the new students from the old wait list. Just try and get a GREAT score and not just a passing score. The trick to passing and doing well is to actually practice over and over with sample problems. Speed increases and you are more comfortable. You also will start to see the same type of questions repeating themselves-just worded differently. GOOD LUCK and hope you guys all get in. My open house for Moorpark RN program is Monday and I cannot wait!!!!
