San Juaquin Delta college- TEAS test?

I hope someone can help me. The new admission process at Delta says that the TEAS test score awards you points towards admission. My question is if I have not taken the test yet, does that put me behind people who have already taken the test? I thought you were supposed to take it after you get admitted into a program.
