San Jose State University (SJSU) Spring 2025

Hi guys! Made this form to share stats for those planning on applying to Spring quarter.

GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 92% (first try, debating if I should retake)

- coreqs completed 

-first generation

-trying to squeeze 100hr of CNA experience by deadline 

Would I be able to get in solely by my GPA and TEAS score? I don't know how much experience counts towards impaction so I'm feeling very anxious.

TEAS 7 online: 85.3% (1st try)

- coreqs completed 

-first generation

-1000+ hrs of CNA experience

just wondering what is the NursingCAS application period? and What is the Spring 2025 SJSU application period?

Do I have to be a Fall 2024 SJSU student in order to apply?

 

EDIT 1: ALSO I am a POST BAC student... so only Spring semester would let me in...

Hey! I believe the NursingCAS application period for Spring opens August 16 and ends on September 16. You could fact check me just to make sure! Since you're a post bac student, I don't think you have to be a fall sjsu student? You could meet with an advisor to make sure. Good luck ! I hope we get in 😄

Hi! I reached out to SJSU nursing and they confirmed NursingCAS will be open starting 8/16. CalState application opens 8/1.

 

My stats: 4.0 prereq GPA, 3.4 cumm GPA, TEAS 98.7%, coreqs completed, 200+ volunteer hours, postbac applicant.

Manifesting acceptances for us all! 🙂

Yeah someone comment below like the school itself opens on Aug 1 and NursingCAS opens on Aug 16.

 

They take only 6 out of 60 for post - bac ... sigh

I wish you could get in the program as well =]!

Any back up plan if things don't work out? (asking for POST-bac because not all the schools accept us =()

@eumenides01 Also applying to USF ME-MSN, and SFSU BSNA, and SMU ABSN! SJSU is my #1 choice and I'd like to stay here in the bay area. If I don't get into a program in CA I'll prob have to look out of state..

I am the lazy type (not doing deep researches) and worked other fields previously, so not having quite lots of knowledge about the nursing field.

Asked some coworkers of mine said go to Nevada or some other random schools out state. (no idea of what schools even till now) Mostly focusing on staying here in the bay, if not ... in state...

Applied butte college and Shasta college up north , palomar college + CSUSM (down south)+ CSU stan so far ... planning to apply SJSU+CSUEB... also EVC (mostly south bay) 

Some said Cabrillo college and some other at Santa Barbara,,, but the possibility is an unknown...

GPA: 4.0, TEAS: 92.7%, 100+ volunteer hours, first-generation. 

Also to that person that got a 98.7... WOW? You're definitely getting in with that score.

  • 3.65 overall GPA 
  • 94% TEAS
  • ~230 hours as an EMT 
  • CNA Certification, Medical Receptionist experience 
  • Previous SJSU Student, BA in Biological Sciences with Cum Laude

When will SJSU announce the decision though? 

 

Via their in-campus email ? Or just personal email?

Or even letters??
