Hello, I was wondering if anyone has worked or is working for the San Diego VA? Do you have to be fingerprinted? I only ask because I was arrested never convicted and the case was dropped by the District Attorney. I didn’t even have to go to court. I have a license in Va and Ca even with this on my record. Any advice would be great!

Government positions require a pretty heavy background check, and yes, that usually includes fingerprints. I had just left the Army and was returning to a DoD civilian position in the same ER and hospital, and they fingerprinted me again. They can opt to not hire you if there is anything objectionable in your past, but without a conviction I don't know if I would sweat it. Depends on the charge, probably. I have a friend who was licensed and already working in the gov system, and they were turned down for a position in another hospital in another state because the hiring individuals found something they didn't like in the background.

I hope it’s not a big deal. I have a letter from the DA stating it was dropped. So I hope it won’t stand in my way.
