Hello,

I read somewhere if you want to stay in a particular area, to find a travel agency within the city/state you want...I am looking to relocate to Sane Diego AREA...but I have a 5 year old and need to be quite stable at least in the area so she can attend school. I am looking really to utilize travel a little or PRN to get in with the hospitals and get my name out there as I eventually want a pathway into PCU/and on to ICU...and if I get to know some in the area...I can work on it, as when I was graduating I was told, I could have gotten hired at the hospital I trained at on ER! As a brand new nurse, that's good!!! So, I know I make impressions!!! :))

ANy advice???

Thanks

Staci

Now's the time of year to find something in San Diego however travel nursing with a 5yr old would be tough.. Especially if you are needing stability.

I spoke to a recruiter today with options but of course no def in stability in San Diego. Do u know the area where you can maybe give some pointers? I just want to get out there so I can get ny name out and talk myself into a permanent position eventually?

Thanks so much!

Sorry I just want to clarify that the recruiter said there are MANY options BUT there is no garuntee to assignments in the area directly following...for stabiity for my 5 year old. Just wondering if u knew where or how I can have luck some other way?

Thanks

She did however say that she can get me there and we can be hopeful together that shed keep me there....those 13 weeks I'd look for permenant jobs...ya know??? I just realized I left 3 replies. Lol. So sorry

I am very familiar with the area.. San Diego is tough because EVERYONE wants to live there. The cost of living is high & the job market is tough. If you are dead-set on it, go out there on a travel assigment and then use your off days to find a perm job. (You might even decide its a nice place to visit but not somewhere you want to live).
