  1. Anyone ever hear of this agency??? Im going to be moving back to Chicago from Florida and I got in touch with these people who seem to be a great company...It's all prn and perdiem. Was just curious of anyone's experience with them? Thanks
  2. We are Catholic. Are there any areas around it ok to live besides? We are looking for Catholic schools. Thank you
  3. Thank u. I understand very well not to say to collegues. Believe me. Been in healthcare 11 years. I'm just making sure I'm making a good decision for my 5 year old and in a safe area with stability. Safe...u know the important things with kids/family. Anyway...I so appreciate that. Being from Chicago knowing city is not too far is nice to know.
  4. Hi everyone! Well, I am ORIGINALLY from Chicago. I currently live in Florida where I have been for 7 years and I HATE THIS PLACE!!! I been with the same hospital system as a CNA to nurse for the entire time, and between wage freezes and hiring freezes and the housing going UP, it is horrendous!!! However I am in my bachelor...done in 4 months. Have a second phone interview Hendrick...and am EXCITED!!! It is a decent amount per hour, more than I get here in Fort Myers FL and it is in the ICU which I need as a one year nurse, onboarding internship...and I want the one year experience to get into CRNA school...Once there, I want to move to CALI, which is my dream home and where I will live for my life! I have a 5 year old and I saw they have a couple good private catholic schools and I am almost sold....I would be moving for experience only and then heading to bigger and better things! Any advice for intern in ICU??? Positive experiences in ICU at Hendricks?

  6. Hi... I'm in Florida. Looking to move. I have a 5 year old. A recruitor just called me with a prospective ICU job that will train a medsurg Tele nurse. I need one year experience to be able to get into the CRNA program and live in my dream town, Napa Calif....for school and be an CRNA there after. Would u take a position like this, being trained on the unit and then getting on with ur life in your dream area where you can get your foot in crna school? For those that know of this area or live there, what do u think? This recruitor said there would be a reloc and sign on bonus. What can you tell me??? I want a low crime rate area and the ability for my daughter to attend a Catholic school as she is in now here in Fort Myers, Florida. Thank you!
  7. She did however say that she can get me there and we can be hopeful together that shed keep me there....those 13 weeks I'd look for permenant jobs...ya know??? I just realized I left 3 replies. Lol. So sorry
  8. Sorry I just want to clarify that the recruiter said there are MANY options BUT there is no garuntee to assignments in the area directly following...for stabiity for my 5 year old. Just wondering if u knew where or how I can have luck some other way? Thanks
  9. I spoke to a recruiter today with options but of course no def in stability in San Diego. Do u know the area where you can maybe give some pointers? I just want to get out there so I can get ny name out and talk myself into a permanent position eventually? Thanks so much!
  10. Redriot, Where do you wor if you don'tmind me asking? Im an RN and work Med Surg/Tele for a year and want to get into ICU and will do step down to be cross trained to ICU...what state??? I am in Fla, and trying hard to get out of this place!!! Thank you
  11. You are more than CORRECT!!! Im a Florida nurse, making $21.50/hr and my 3 bedroom 2 bath is 1050/month and water/electricity is ridiculous not to mention...our benefits are going up 20% this Nov and wage freeze!!! SUX and I can't wait to get out of Florida!!!!!
  12. Hello, I read somewhere if you want to stay in a particular area, to find a travel agency within the city/state you want...I am looking to relocate to Sane Diego AREA...but I have a 5 year old and need to be quite stable at least in the area so she can attend school. I am looking really to utilize travel a little or PRN to get in with the hospitals and get my name out there as I eventually want a pathway into PCU/and on to ICU...and if I get to know some in the area...I can work on it, as when I was graduating I was told, I could have gotten hired at the hospital I trained at on ER! As a brand new nurse, that's good!!! So, I know I make impressions!!! :)) ANy advice??? Thanks Staci
  13. Hello everyone! I live in Florida...of course the county I live in I have worked for the same health system/hospital for 8 years. First as a CNA-Advanced and now an RN on Med Surg Tele floor (same floor) for one year...I want to move to San Diego REALLY BAD...or the area...Im open to some other things, but have a 5 year old and need to be somewhat stable because it's really her and I at this time...a friend is working with American Mobile and only a nurse for a year and they placed her in Los Angeles and she has been there 4 months, and gets a GREAT hourly salary, and they give her a $2000 housing stipend...where she uses part for rent (800/month) and pockets the rest...and uses it for utilities, so technically she is getting everything for free to "live"...she said it is stable in that she has been able to stay in that area for 2 years now. She chooses to stay with travel because she is single and makes bank and that extra stipend...she will eventually find somewhere to sign on. I am looking for kind of the same thing...only 2 things are important...getting a travel spot in the area...and staying in the area even if all over it...because I do have my 5 year old who needs to be in school and around me....as any child and their parent....and 2nd thing is to have a way to meet everyone in the area to find my pathway into PCU and then ICU...as I need critical care experience to get into my CRNA program later in my life here. I'm finishing an online BAchelor's bridge program. Anyway...if you can help me with any life experiences...I would appreciate. Pls include travel agency name, and pay rate, and how they helped you get where you need to be...and was positive to work for with excellent pay and extra things. Thanks alot
