Just wondering if anyone has went to there RN or LPN programs and how they like it? Or if they've heard anything about these schools.

I am taking my pre-reqs here in Hawaii and then when my hubby transfers to San diego,(he's in the navy) then i'm planning on applying to both the RN and LPN programs.

Thanks,

Ariel

I did my prereqs at Southwestern. I really liked the school - but they have a 2 year waiting list to get into the RN program. They also require you to be a CNA before applying. If you have the grades, I recommend trying SDSU. They do a point system & take the top applicants. Hope that helps.

yes it does help! I do have my CNA but i got it in Hawaii. Does that count?

I think it would, but you should check with the department directly. It is a good school in a great neighborhood. I definately recommend it.

Specializes in ICU.
neat! thanks!

Hi Ariel,

I'm sure you have this covered already, but be aware that these schools will want your pre-reqs to be accompanied by labs.

I met someone who took her pre-reqs in Hawaii, but without the labs, and then came here to CA to enroll in nursing school. Those classes were wasted efforts for her.

Good luck to you. :)

Yep, that's true. Get ready to skin some cats!

yea I was looking at the pre-reqs and it did say i need to do the labs also! I'm dreading the Skinning of cats. but you gotta do what you gotta do right?!

Thanks!

It's not so bad. Our professor was very clear, if you can't do it, get out!

But he also made it clear that these cats were not killed for us, they were already being euthanized.
