The city is huge and very spread out. If you work in the medical center area then that area would be good to live in. There is a santa rosa location in downtown san antonio and if you worked there I would look in the north central part of town off hwy 281 ot I10 for quick access to get downtown. I would stay north of loop 410 if your on I10. The northside and northeast independent school districts are both great. National exemplary schools.
Pay should be around $25-30/hr. Alot of what you get depends on your negotiating ability. It is a very low cost living area though.
I just put my application in University hospital, but i was not aware of the salary range &i put expected salary way higher than this ,so i didn't even get a automated reply.......i don't know any places in san antonio, but if i get job in UH,where i should live???Is it north central part??i am not very good driver in free ways.........Thanks in Advance
Also do you get any extra pay if you are certified??
Medical center area is where u should start out at living, that is north central. Most places do offer higher pay in town for certification. Thanks Agian..............Looking forward to come to SA..How long usually the hiring process take.In ohio I am Making above 30 in Ohio,so i thought In ICU"S the pay will be more.Any way i will try to apply in other hospitals also.Won't do that mistake again....
ARGO!
Can you give me any information about University Hospital. I just moved to SA from out of state. I have 3 years experience in ICU. University Hospital offered me a job in PACU. Methodist Hospital offered me a job in ICU.
Do you know which hospital pays more? And which hospital is a better place to work for? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Personally I would probably work at Methodist. Do you know which Methodist? They pay a little better usually. Pay rates really vary though. University is a massive place and it had great benefits when I lived there, pay was also decent. It is also the county hospital so the clientele is a little different. I have been up in CO for a while now. There are tons of different hospitals you get to choose from with Methodist if you wanted to transfer after a year or pick up extra hours.
I worked for Methodist, baptist and nix hospitals when I lived there.
