Hi everyone! I'm starting this discussion for anyone interested and applying for SAC's Spring 2021 semester. This is for the nursing program in San Antonio, Texas. Drop in and say hello!!

hey, as far as san antonio nursing programs go, here's what I've heard:
- avoid Galen (was told this by my pre-req professors)
- UIW... super expensive, can get the same credential (RN) for much less
- Texas Lutheran... good program but also too expensive
- SAC... most affordable and long standing history
- BSHP... lots of good reviews of this program, same associates degree as SAC but more expensive, advantage is the hospital affiliation and great clinical rotations
-UTHSCSA... lots more pre requisites and application requirements but challenging program
My questions are:
Is SAC your first choice for nursing school? If yes, why? If not, why not? And where else have you applied? What are your impressions of the other programs?... I am really interested in SAC but don't know any nursing students who go there. Otherwise I'd ask them all about their experiences.
Yes SAC is my first choice mainly because its close to home and also the price. I also know many nurses who have attended SAC and I haven’t heard anything bad. I also applied into UTMB but I know that one is way more competitive I guess we will see!

I did my LVN at Galen and you couldn’t pay me to go back. They do a great job of preparing you for NCLEX, but for how expensive the school is, it’s so unorganized. I’ve worked with people that have done the program at baptist and they loved it, it’s just expensive. If I don’t get into SAC, I’m going to apply to the LVN-BSN program at Sam Houston.
