Hello everyone.
I am planning to apply to SMU to the online Family Nurse Practioner program. I could not find information about the online program specifically. Can anybody share their experience, please?
How is the studying set (lectures recorded)?
What assignments required from students: group studying, tests, presentations, lots of papers, discussions?
Thank you

I just applied for the spring 2020 msn-fnp online program, wondering the same about people’s experiences... most of what I’ve seen online is from a few years back and wondering if anyone who recently went through the program (or is in the program) could give me some feedback on what they think of the program.
Hi April! I’m applying as well! Please let me know about any updates ?
Awesome, where do you live? Let me know if you hear anything as well.
I also applied for Jan 2020 start. I’m from Vegas. When i spoke to the advisor (Janet), she said they help with placement for clinical sites. I’m wondering if you got that same information? Where are you from?
Hey jtrinh3,
I found out I was accepted into the program! I applied on the 22nd.yes, I was also told they help with clinical placement.

I am in the online FNP program. I have a little over a year left. So far the classes have been good, a lot work Though. The professors are understanding and helpful. They are easily accessible, so if I have any questions or don’t understand something they do make time to meet with me as much as I need over the phone or through online. I have not started clinicals yet so I don’t have any experience on that and about finding placement or how easy or hard it is in terms of getting a clinical- I start clinicals next semester.

Get ready for a huge student loan if you are taking loans, this program is expensive. Also the school is disorganized to say the least so make sure you have your own choice of clinical preceptors specially if you don't live in the Bay. The program is not bad but you will only get what you put into it. I did more hours than required and found all my own preceptors and basically put my heart and soul into it. I was working three weeks after I took boards and am going to complete my full year in April.
Goddluck all.

Hi! I'm currently applying to the DNP-FNP program. Is there a way I could DM you for more insight? Thanks!

Sure but I did not do the DNP program and I graduated 5 years ago so don't know how many changes have been made since than.
