Hello all! Wondering who got in to the GENERIC (traditional) 2-year BSN program at Samuel Merritt this fall 2009!

I just got a call from someone, and I've been accepted for fall!!!

congratulations!!!!! :) were you on the waitlist or did you get accepted directly? if you were on the waitlist, mind sharing what number you were? thanks and CONGRATS!!!!

Oh, thank you! Yes, I was on the waitlist. I was #7. Hope that helps! Good luck!

That's excellent!! I'm #11 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Still 4 more people....ugh!

A very big GOOD LUCK to you! :) Their program is fabulous and you're very lucky to be admitted!

I might DIE from this wait.

I still haven't been called by SMU! The only hope I have is that maybe the lady is on break or something! She e-mailed me last week saying I'm number 11 on the waitlist and they've offered admission to 10 waitlisted people already, so I'm next! I keep thinking "I'm next in line..I'm next in line!! I'm bound to get in!", but then at the same time...SOMEONE has to be next in line but not accepted because all the spots are taken. It's so hard because I need to be planning for it financially, but can't bring myself to do that because it would be SUCH a let-down if I didn't end up getting in.

I'm surprised actually that they haven't called me yet considering LoveSophie's denial of acceptance letter was sent out on Monday! Shouldn't they have received it and called me back by now?

OK I need to breathe. :) The waiting game is the worst part.

Hi,

I know most of you have gotten in already and finished the program. However, I wanted to ask how do they notify you that you have been waitlisted/accepted?

Do they email or call or mail a letter? I am waiting for an answer for my admission to their Fall 2011 semester right now.

Thanks! :)

also, those of you who got in, did they ask you to send your final grades from the prior semester (spring 2009) before they made a decision?

thnx!

Hi, they mail letters of denial and acceptance in the snail mail. I've received both so I can pretty safely say that a rejection or waitlist notification come in regular sized envelopes and an acceptance letter comes in a big 8.5x11 envelope.

I can't honestly say if they waited for my final grades since I don't remember what the time sequence was there, but I think the way they do it is offer an acceptance and they can withdraw it if you fail a class or something...

Good luck!

bluechick112, thanks so much for a such quick response. SMU promised to notify by June 1st, so the day is coming up and I am getting anxious ;(

How far in the program are you? Do you like it? Is it manageable? Any details or advice you would share would be awesome! :D
