Has anyone else applied to this program & which campus did you pick for first choice?

When is the orientation?

I was told that it was two days this year Nov. 29 and 30. But I could be wrong.

Hi Guys! I am planning on applying to the ABSN program for spring 2014. I was just wondering...does anyone know if you have patho and pharma in progress or planned when u apply if it is going to decrease your chances? It says on the website that it is recommended you have all pre reqs completed but I know a lot of people usually have classes in progress...let me know what u think or know :)

Hello all :)

I too was accepted last month - looking forward to meeting all of you soon!! In the meantime, we've started a FB group. You will need to friend one of us who is already in the group to allow access in. PM me if you'd like my real name so I can let you in!

We just received the official email regarding orientation yesterday..... it is December 13-14 from 830-3 each day.

If you want to start working on things...... go to the SMU site and under health services there will be a pdf with the required immunizations and titres - start working on these as they will take some time! Also, American Heart Association BLS CPR is the only one that will be honored.

Someone else had a question regarding patho and pharm.... I had those listed as "planned" on my application as well as a CLEP exam for English Literature and was accepted :)

Does anyone know where the clinical sites would be for the different locations? Also, if I'm going to be applying for the sac location do I still meet with the advisor at Oakland or are there different advisors for different locations? I could ask these questions to someone at SM but I figured you guys would respond faster :)

Rachelynn,I'm half way through this program in San Mateo. The clinicals are all over the peninsula with majority of them in San Jose. The school does ask for student's preference but it doesn't always happen. A lot of us carpool, so I don't find it problematic to commute to a far hospital twice a week.Counselors are available in all campuses but I still went to Oakland because of the time conflict.
