Samuel Merritt, ABSN, Science in progress

Hello,

I wanted to know if anyone was accepted into Samuel Merritt's ABSN program with a science course in progress. I am applying for Jan 2019 Sac start date, and I will have Micro in progress over the Fall 2018 semester. I was advised that it is best to have all completed, but I don't want to hold off on starting my career any longer. Some dreams have been on hold for too long.

Has anyone been accepted into the program with science courses in progress?

Hello,

I would suggest applying anyway. I had 2 outstanding science prerequisite courses when I applied and was accepted. I called SMU and they told me that as long as the courses were finished before the classes start in January, you are good to go (as long as you are accepted). I would suggest calling/emailing them just to double check, though. Things can always change.

Hello,

Thank you SO much. I emailed the counselor and she said she suggested finishing all science before applying, but I am not prepared to wait. It would put me out another 9 months, and I'm eager. My courses will be completed by my start date. Fingers crossed. THANK YOU so much for your response.

I applied to the Sac ABSN 2019, but know I have very little chance of getting in with my 2 prereqs in progress. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!! Thanks again.

You are welcome for the quizlet information! I have 1 class in progress now, and my friend that graduated last year from Sac had 2 courses in progress when she got accepted! I applied to Sac too! We can do this!!!!!!!

Oh yay that gives me a little more hope! Also I forgot to add, the patho class I got into at SBCC is 16 weeks so I'm hoping it will be a tad less workload weekly since it isn't crammed into a short summer semester. Good luck to us this semester in micro!!

Oh, that will be WAY better. You didnt overwhelm yourself :) Where are you taking Micro at? I am at FLC, a night class.

I'm taking it at Sierra. A night class would have been my first choice but those fill up so fast. The spring was my first semester back from a long hiatus so I have real crappy priority. October can't come fast enough!

Yes!!! I had a hard time getting classes because of the amount of units I've completed, so I petitioned it since this program is considered a "high unit program". I found a loop hole... maybe they just wanted to get me out of the office! :) October can't!! Good luck in your next semester, and I can't wait until we get the news!
