Sales to Nursing

Published

Hi all,

Realtor to nurse...

Has anyone else taken this path? I've wanted to go into nursing since I was young, but let others talk me out of it. I am now on the eve of a birthday (one decade is ending, and another is beginning) and can no longer hold back my desire to enter the profession. I feel I am getting to a 'now or never' point, and I am tired of being envious of nurses and docs. We have a few nurses in my family, and other family members are heavily involved in healthcare (in other words, I have an idea of what I am going into). Going back to school would be a deliberate, calculated decision on my part requiring substantial savings to cover living expenses. I am exempt from paying tuition in-state because a parent works for the university system.

Thanks in advance for your comments!

I wasn't a realtor, but I was 38 when I returned to school and 41 when I graduated. If you want it, do it. Do it now. There is no reason why you shouldn't as long as you plan for the financial burden of limited work during school. I am excited for you! :)

Thank you for the encouragement! I will be turning 30 soon, so I will be done around age 32-33. I'm glad going to school later in life worked out so well for you!
