Hello All,
I just recently started a new position as a wellness director of a supportive living facility in my area. I have been a nurse for 3 years with no management experience. There are about 100 plus beds and about 25 staff members that I manage. I am on-call 24 hours a day. There is a lot to deal with at this place. In the interview, I made it very clear that I had no management experience and they were ok with that. One of the young ladies that was interviewing me stated that it was nothing like I thought it would be and it was nothing like running a nursing home, however I am finding it to be very different. In the interview I had no idea what to ask for as a salary because I had never been in management, however after accepting the position I am thinking I should have been offered a different. I made more as a new grad working in a hospital on nights than I make at this place. Does anyone know what an appropriate starting salary for someone with no experience as a wellness director would be?

what do wellness nurses do specifically in LTC? I am confused, what is their day like on the job and what are their responsibilities. I guess the wellness part is making me curious. Please respond to my questions! thank you in advance
