It's outrageous the closer you are to SF but not impossible...there are more renters than home owners as the average home price is around a million dollars.

I'm a new grad NP going into outpatient psych in NoCal. During training: $90 K, increasing in steps to $100K, $110K, then $140K within 18 months. This is also in a very low cost of living area (1 BR apt rent of $600 to $700 month).

New grad FNPs and AGNPs are starting at about $100K in the San Diego area, which is a lot cheaper than SF or LA.
