Sad after failing A&P exam...

Published

Just got my grade back from the first A&P Lecture exam we took two weeks ago and it is a 53%. I'm really sad about it and disappointed in myself. Especially since I heard it only gets harder from here (my professor said so in class). Feel like all the studying that I did, including tutoring, was useless. It was pretty hard but I thought I would at least get a high 70% on it. Also what bothers me is how the grade in Lecture was the only thing saving me from Lab quizzes I keep on failing. Also the practical for lab is Thursday and everyone is tremendously freaking out over it since the professors and TA's say it is going to be really difficult. This course is just impossible, especially with the amount of time we have each week to prepare for tests and quizzes and also our other classes we take. I just don't want to feel like I'm wasting my family's money in this class by failing it and having to retake it and not getting to graduate in four years if I do so.

If you're really struggling with the class, is it too late to drop with a W and maybe take it later? Since you said you're taking other classes, maybe a better option is to take it by itself in the summer. Don't be too hard on yourself. College is a learning experience and you have to look at it as just that. You're learning how much of a class load you can handle and the best option to pursue the classes you need. The good thing is retaking the class is also an option.

Drop it and take in a different semester where you have less class load
