Sac State Nursing Application

Published

Hello, I will be applying to Sac State in October and the Nursing Program for Fall 2017. I have one more pre requisite course and I am planning on taking another Chemistry course to try and bump my GPA to a 4.0. My question has to do with in progress classes. Sac State takes your best grade for any Chemistry class and if I have taken one, and will be in progress with another one when I apply do they calculate my score with my previous Chemistry grade or will they wait until I finish the one I will be taking before calculating my total points? I got a C in chemistry and do not want that grade included in my Nursing GPA, but if I have a "retake" in progress will they still count it or can I put in progress on the application? thanks!

I was thinking of doing the same for Physio. I emailed the advisor and since I was currently in the physio class when I asked she suggested that I withdraw/drop the class and just take it in progress bc if I had a low grade, they would count the first and best grade available. So to answer your question: They WILL calculate your C in chemistry as your grade. I personally wouldn't retake it if they're gonna count that C or decide to retake it and just wait until the spring to apply when you get a better grade in that class.
