Rush University GEM Program Spring 2023

Published

Hi! I was wondering if anyone here applied to the MSN GEM program at Rush University starting January of 2023. I submitted my application via Nursing CAS last week and just submitted my supplemental application. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back? Any advice would help. First generation college student here ?

Has anyone had their interview yet? How did it go?

I had my interview earlier today! I thought it went really well and wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I reviewed a ton of different interview questions so none of them caught me off guard. I was told we should be hearing back end of September/early October.

Hi! I had my interview Monday morning and it went really well! It was very laid back and it was more of a conversation about Rush and why I choose the school. My interview went a little over 30 minutes because we had great conversation. I made sure to send a thank you email to my interviewer and she sent me some feedback which made me feel very confident about my application. I also emailed Meghan O’Malley, the admissions specialist and I was told we would find out about their decision on October 7th, 2022. Let me know how everyone else’s interviews went and good luck to all!

Had my interview for the GEM program last week which I think went well and next week I have a second interview for the direct entry pathway portion of my application! Eager to hear a decision coming up on October 7!

Acceptance notices are going out today. I was accepted! Would love to connect to anyone that plans to attend.

Accepted as well! Will likely be attending and would love to connect!

I was accepted as well! Congrats to you both. Would love to connect too :)

Congrats everyone that was accepted! Im from California and was accepted as well

Congrats to all! Is there a facebook group where we could connect?

I was also accepted today and wondering if there was a facebook page! Def am going to be looking for roommates!

I have my interview on Monday for the Spring start! Although, I'm thinking strongly about reapplying for the Fall cohort to allow myself more time to save money given that they recommend not working. One of the past interview questions said it's recommended not to work the first two terms/semesters. Is that correct? Do students often take advantage of working after those two?

I was just accepted to Rush for the Spring though I think I'll reapply for the Fall '23 start. I was also accepted into DePaul. Did anyone else pick Rush over DePaul's MENP program? Why? I think they're quite similar though I see more recent research for Rush that I'm interested in and saw from 2013 on this site that it's a plus that Rush is an MSN and hospital-based so clinicals are easier whereas DePaul is a generalist program and sometimes difficult with clinicals scheduling.
