Feels like there are so many and as a travel nurse, nobody (especially the sups) knows them. How the heck can I familiarize myself with them in the different states?
I'm so tired of being told I need to keep patients on who are non compliant for education/teaching. Do you usually recert for education/teaching... especially when not taking their meds? Or going to see doctor?

I worked for a home health agency & ended up leaving because of what you describe.
The agency was not able to offer speech therapy, social work or home health aides because they "can't afford them" (this is a nation wide agency). Many nurses & therapist left in the past year because the director (& her boss) really applied pressure to keep patients on service who were clearly not home bound, didn't have a skill, etc. Nurses & therapist felt pushed to make assessments justify recerts and/or admissions, visits that were not needed. It because too much of a day to day struggle & more & more evident that the bottom line of keeping the census up was more important that what was ethical.
As far as rules & regs & the sups not knowing them, I'm sure that is the case in some instances, but it sounds like it's more a case of ignoring them to keep census numbers. Just protect yourself because eventually this kind of business practice will catch up to them.
