RPN TO RN Bridging

Published

I'm at Mohawk college Practical Nursing Semester 2. I didn't do well in semester 2 due to personal reasons and my marks are high 60s, my semester 1 marks were 80s. If I repeat a few courses from semester 2 will the bridging program look at the repeats and not let me in the RN bridging program? Because I don't want to continue to semester 3 and risking the chance of getting lower marks. I know McMaster is based strictly on marks but will repeating semester 2 make it more risky? Or should I continue on to semester 3?

Thank you so much

Well, they take your overall average in the program. If you did poorly in semester 2 then it isn't going to help you to go onto semester 3. I suggest re-taking the courses you did poorly in to boost your average. I don't see why re-taking courses would risk your chances at the bridging.

I got into McMaster bridging program for September and had an 87% average. I suggest you have at least an 85% to be considered. Good luck! :)

Thank you so much!! I just wanted to be sure because before entering the RPN program I wanted to go into RN program and they didn't accept me due to repeating courses in high school. I just want to be cautious. And wow!!! I have to work extra hard to pull an average like an 85 thank you!!
