RPN graduate pathways

Published

Hello, I am just wondering what the options are for practical nurses in ontario are after graduation. I have several questions, mostly just inquiring all possibilities. If any of these can be answered thatd be great :)

1. After completing the rpn program, can I bridge to the RN program at any school or only the school that is in collaboration with the college I graduate from? Also I have heard that some programs are 2 years and some are 3... what is the difference?

2. If I go into the RN program and complete it what can I do with the degree? Is teachers college an option or even med school ? My main question would be if it is even possible to go into med school after this?

Sorry there are so many questions to be answered. Any help would be great.

Thanks!

The two year options require a one year "bridge" program before continuing on into the actual university program, so essentially they are still the same length. This is how it is at Centennial/Ryerson, just for example. You can apply to any school that offers a bridging program, you are not confined to the school you graduated from.
