They called me today and told me that my group didn't have to come in for enrollment. Just gotta be there for orientation. I hope I get to meet you guys, it's been really cool communicating with you all!

Did Gail tell you anything about how we get enrolled if we don't have to go today (since we're online option)? I need to submit my enrollment for work and for my scholarship but it won't let me enroll myself either. I've been emailing her and she said she would get to me yesterday but never did.

She told you that the online option doesn't have to enroll in campus? I don't want to lose my spot in the program.

Hey NADM, I just checked my student/schedule bill and I was already enrolled in my nursing core classes. So, I'm pretty sure they automatically do it for us that are online! :)

I am currently a first semester traditional rose state college nursing student fall 2017. I got in my first try with no healthcare experience. I had finished my prerequisite work in fall of 2016 and applied in January of 2017. I didn't find out if I was accepted until May 2017. I am a hairstylist with NO experience in healthcare at all. In 2013, I had took a CNA class but never worked as a CNA I just got the certificate. I had 132 points when I applied. My GPA 4.0, so I got 40 points, my compass test(now accuplacer) I had 54 points, I took all classes BEFORE I applied so 32 points (including nutrition, developmental psychology), i took all classes at Rose which gave me 2 points, and I had that CNA certificate which gave me 4 points. So my total points was -132-

Tips on getting accepted:

-talk to every student you can in your prerequisite classes and ask them how many points they have(be noisy), cause this will give you an idea on what others students points are when you are about to apply

-take the accuplacer as many times as you can, you are allowed to take it 2x ONLY every semester for free. The more you take it the higher your score will be so take it as many times as possible.

-Get the most points you possibly can, I personally took online nutrition, and developmental psychology just to get 2 points, but you never know those 2 points could be the deciding factor if you get in or not.

- Know that C's do not get degrees when referring to the nursing program, do your best and shoot for a high GPA to get maximum points 3.6-40 is needed to get max points.

-Choose good professors, RSC has great professors make sure you get the right ones that are going to help you succeed, use the ratemyprofessor.com site before you choose a class to see if the professor is any good.

-utilize the Learning resource center and the FREE tutoring RSC offers, if your struggling in a class get FREE tutoring( it helped me in chemistry)

-Before and after every semester check to see if they changed any required criteria for the nursing program. It happened to me. So make sure your on the right track.

-know that most people who get in have AT LEAST 120 points. However, it depends on all the students who apply and what their points are during each semester. Ex-this semester the average can be 124pts and next semester the average can be 130 points to get accepted. You never know. So like I said try to get as many points as you can.

-DO NOT take too many science classes in 1 semester, spread them out. Ex-taking physiology and chemistry requires to much studying and reading to take both in 1 semester. Majority of students who do that do not do well.

As we all know the nursing program is very competitive and hard work. But I guarantee it will be worth it in the end. Don't give up on applying and trying to get in.

-sidenote- if you went to a previous school and had a low GPA that is hindering you from getting your GPA up. RSC has a program called academic renewal and academic reprieve that erases up 2 two consecutive semesters of poor grades. If you meet the qualifications. Trust me i know i had to do it my GPA was a 0.21 cause I never went to class at UCO (I was young and dumb). However, due to the academic renewal I was able to start over and now I'm a 4.0 student. This also applies to RSC students who didnt do well and want to start over with gpa. See a financial aid advisor for details.

-sidenote- if you want someone to go over your essays for Free and give feedback before you turn it in, use RSC online tutor.com. Click on any class that you are currently enrolled in, and hit resources, scroll down and click tutor.com. you can drop off any essay anonymously and get feedback on grammar,spelling, sentence structure, etc within 24hrs. I've been using this site for 1 1/2hrs and most times they get it back to me within 1-2hrs cause it's people from all over the country that gives feedback. Even at 2am I can drop off a essay and get it back in a couple of 2hrs. Use any resource possible
