Has anyone out there taken the LPN refresher course offered by the RODP ? I have an inactive license and this was a suggested refresher from the BON for reactivation of my license and I have completed the theory portion, but am having extreme difficulty completing the 30hour clinical requirement. I have not been able to find one facility willing to hook me up with a preceptor and facilitate this requirement, they all say that the school has to have a contract with them as technically I am not a student and therefore have no instructor with me. The program and my instructor say that I am supposed to find a site to complete this clinical, but how is this possible? I am really frustrated with this , because I am trying to get my license on active status, and this is holding me back. Has anyone out there done this program, and how did you get your clinical requirement completed!!?? I am begining to think this program is a scam , but then again, why would the BON allow it to be an acceptable refresher. I have tried everywhere in my home town, and all surrounding areas within and hours driving distance Its sad but now I am thinking I wasted $1200 on this and am probably going to have to do something else for the BON , maybe retake the nclex ?

Hi! I'm taking the refresher course out right now. Did you ever have any luck finding a facility to do your clinicals? Which city are you in?
Yes, I did finish!! FINALLY, I am in Clarksville, but no facility here was willing to let me come in. Luckily, my instructor was able to connect me to someone who was willing to do it in a town over from here. It was great!! She was really nice and so helpful and friendly to me and the facility staff were also very receptive and helpful with my requirement. Overall, it was a quick, but great experience. I can pm you her name and where she works if you would like. She might be interested in helping you out.
