Rockland Community College ; Spring 2021 Start

Published

Hey guys! I applied for the SUNY Rockland Spring 2021 start and wanted to see if anyone else here had done the same! I squeezed my application in right at the last second as my placement test results hadn't cleared yet and they were due at the time of application (otherwise your app gets thrown out)!

If you did apply, what was your TEAS score? I got an 82.7

If you are already an RCCC student (or attended in the past) I’d also love to hear what your experiences were like!

Good luck everyone!

Truly happy for you! Go get 'em!!

I just checked my email and I got accepted too! So relieved.... Yes!

We do those things before we start clinicians? Or when we start the semester? I have my BLS already at least one less thing to worry about. Anyone doing the LPN to RN pathway?

I think we need them done before the semester. So much to do. I don't really have a doctor so I don't know who will do the health clearance. The money for all this is hard for me too.

Can you find a primary care physician?

I believe the due date for the health screen, drug test, and background check is January 8th! For the BLS the due date is January 22nd, and my acceptance letter said it has to be valid at least for the entire first semester.

I just go to urgent care for all of the stuff like this that I need to get done. I do have insurance through my mom still (for one more year D:) so it costs ~$50 for the health screen.

The $290 for the BLS and background/drug screen will be hard but I'm honestly not surprised. I was always warned that the first semester of nursing school will cost major money out of pocket. I'm also not sure yet if they're going to have us purchase custom school scrubs and equipment out of pocket or not either!

Textbooks thankfully should be covered by FAFSA.

Ohh OK my letter didn’t mention any  of this maybe because I’m on the LPN-RN pathway it might be a little different

Hey guys! Congrats on your acceptance! I’m currently on the waitlist for the evening program and was wondering when the deadlines are? Not getting much info from admissions just that I would hear early January if anything opens. I’m figuring this will be the last week that I might hear anything. Thanks!

The health screen, background check, and drug test was due on the 8th. Your BLS is due on the 22nd. I assume if you’re on a waitlist your due dates would likely be extended!

Class starts in less than 2 weeks! I’m a bit nervous as we haven’t been assigned teachers for our nursing courses yet, and still have no idea which books we need! I’m hoping I’ll be able to purchase everything in time >.> I still haven’t been sent any info about my gov loans yet, just my grants! Def a bit nerve wracking right now.

Are you all dealing with the same thing? I’m hoping if it’s a department wide delay that we won’t be penalized in any way, like teachers expecting us to have all of our books on day one!
