Rockland Comm. College - Fall 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone!

Hoping someone, anyone, finds this thread lol. I've been looking on the Internet and AllNurses and I haven't been able to find a thread about students entering the nursing program for Fall 2016 at RCC. I figured I would start a thread as a way to get us all aquatinted with one another. Also, if anyone out there who plans on applying to RCC has any questions, feel free to ask! :)

Anytime! Feel free to ask me any questions along the way, good luck to you!

Thanks! :) will you be at the orientation this Tuesday?

Nope, I did orientation last spring. Don't let them scare you lol

We're getting closer!..I was wondering what ways did you study for 111? Did you record lectures? Rewrite your notes?

I know :nailbiting: lol. I would print the power point slides out prior to lecture and I would write my notes on the power points. Then I would read the chapters and re-listen to the recorded lecture & add in any extra notes to help me understand the material. Also in the syllabus there's key words and topics under each assigned reading and I would make sure I took notes on those too. Then I would just re-read the PowerPoint slides I made my notes on to study :) there's always questions on maslows hierarchy of needs

I've been on the hunt on how to effectively study for school. I had the poorest study habits back when I was earning my bachelors. Did you have Prof. Crispell by any chance? She's my teacher for for lecture and lab

Just read and make sure you understand the material and do practice questions from the books. I had professor annunziato for lecture and I thought she was really good, she really stressed the important topics to focus on and her power points were really good. I think I mentioned one of the books earlier in this post the "Fundamentals of Nursing Content Review and practice questions" really helped me get ready for NCLEX style exams.

I hope I'm as lucky as you with Crispell...by any chance, do you know if RCC has offered PSY 191 of CHM 105 in past winter sessions?

They don't usually offer a lot in the winter. I highly doubt they offer CHEM but possibly PSYCH.

I checked and received confirmation that they won't be offering either in the winter. Looks like I'll be taking both in the summer..it hit me a few days ago how much work was involved for psych :woot:

Yea it is a lot of work especially alongside Nursing classes. I still have to take Microbiology next summer :grumpy:

I took Cadenas for micro lecture and lab. I really liked her..she has an odd sense of humor which helped after a long day of work lol
